FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions about TeachTools!

WHAT ARE MATH MANIPULATIVES?

Manipulatives are physical objects that are used as teaching tools to engage students in the hands-on learning of mathematics. Manipulatives provide concrete ways for students to bring meaning to abstract mathematical ideas. They help students learn new concepts and relate new concepts to what they have already learned. They assist students with solving problems and can be used to introduce, practice, or remediate a concept. When students explore with manipulatives, they have the opportunity to see mathematical relationships. They have tactile and visual models that help develop their understanding.

WHAT MAKES TEACHTOOLS DIFFERENT?

TeachTools math kits contain the most common math manipulatives that Elementary Teachers use in their classrooms. Our math kits come in two sizes and contain the basic tools that parents, pod educators, and tutors would use to facilitate at-home math learning. Our kits and downloadable activity guides are great for parents opting in to their school board’s virtual learning program, or deciding to homeschool.
